These staunch scientists and opinion leaders will select the finalists.

Markku Wilenius


Markku Wilenius is the University of Turku’s futures studies professor, who has been researching our planet’s development for over 20 years. In addition to that, among other things Wilenius has led the strategic research and development at insurance company Allianz.

Minna Martikainen


Minna Martikainen is professor of financial accounting and vice rector of education at the Hanken School of Economics. She has previously worked as a professor both at Aalto University and at Lappeenranta University of Technology, and directed numerous research projects funded by the Academy of Finland.

Liisa Välikangas


Liisa Välikangas is Aalto University and Hanken School of Economic’s innovation management professor, who specializes in business regeneration. Välikangas has worked in several international universities and research institutes.

Kiti Müller


Kiti Müller is a medical doctor and neurologist with a PhD in Neuroscience. Before working at Nokia, as a medical expert and principal researcher in digital health, she directed cognitive neuroscience research at the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health BrainWork Centre. Besides working in both worlds, research and business, she is an avid writer.

Kalevi Ekman


Kalevi Ekman is a professor of mechanical engineering and applied product development at Aalto university. He is also the founder of Aalto Design Factory where students and researchers from all disciplines learn to solve practical problems in cooperation with companies. World Cultural Council just awarded his pioneering work with Jose Vasconcelos World Award of Education.

Johan Lundin


Johan Lundin is a medical doctor and research director at the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), University of Helsinki. He studies the use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in medical care, with the goal to create new diagnostic methods. He is also a co-founder of a medtech startup company and a guest professor of medical technology at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm.

Sampsa Hautaniemi


Doctor of Technology Sampsa Hautaniemi works as a professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Helsinki. His research focuses on finding effective treatment to overcome drug resistance in cancer. Before establishing his own research group in Helsinki he worked in the top research institutions National Institute of Health and MIT.
